The Agency of the Year Award recognises an agency that demonstrates outstanding performance across strategy, creativity, innovation, leadership, and results. The winning agency exemplifies strong vision, delivers exceptional client experiences, fosters talent, and contributes positively to the industry and wider community. Its impact extends beyond business success to shaping standards within the marketing and communications landscape.

Award Categories
Agencies will be recognised across three categories:

Small: Revenue of less than R10 million and/or fewer than 20 employees
Medium: Revenue between R10 million and R50 million and/or 21 to 70 employees
Large: Revenue of R50 million+ and/or more than 70 employees

Judging Criteria

1. Executive Summary
Overall quality, clarity, and persuasiveness of the submission. Judges will assess how effectively the agency communicates its vision, capabilities, achievements, and impact.

2. Strategy
Demonstrates strong strategic direction in positioning the agency for growth and success. Includes business strategy, market positioning, client acquisition, and the ability to align capabilities with evolving industry and client needs.

3. Innovation
Shows evidence of innovative thinking in services, campaigns, business models, or operations. Positions the agency as a leader, challenger, or disruptor within the industry.

4. Creativity (Design & Communication)
Demonstrates excellence in creative output that is insight-driven, distinctive, and effective. Reflects the agency’s ability to consistently deliver high-quality work that drives brand impact.

5. Experience
Illustrates how the agency delivers exceptional and consistent client experiences. Includes relationship management, collaboration, service delivery, and the ability to create meaningful brand interactions across touchpoints.

6. Leadership
Demonstrates strong leadership at an organisational level, including vision-setting, culture-building, and talent development. Reflects a commitment to empowering teams, fostering collaboration, upholding ethical standards, and contributing to the broader industry.

7. Impact & Results
Provides clear, measurable evidence of success. This may include business growth, client retention and acquisition, campaign effectiveness, industry recognition, and contribution to the marketing and communications ecosystem.
